Aston Villa have linked with Swiss player Breel Embolo from Basel
Aston Villa have had a very busy summer this year, the busiest in recent memory in fact, Tim Sherwood has moved on many player he doesn’t like the look of and has wasted no time in drafting in replacements. Villa have been linked with Embolo all summer and the rumour doesn`t seem to be going away any time soon. The promising forwards is said to be valued at £10million by the club but they are unwilling to sell.
The versatile forward player has already added trophies to his cabinet in the form of the Swiss Super League in 2014-2015 and two Swiss championships at under 16 level. He was also named Basel young player of the year 2013.
Breel Embolo began his career with Nordstern then Old Boys before transferring to Basel youth system in 2010 where he played with the under 16’s until 2013 winning the under 16’s Swiss championships on two occasions. Shortly after his 16th birthday he signed a professional contract with Basel.
The talented youngster made his professional debut on March 13th 2014 as a last minute substitute in a game against Red Bull Salzburg in the Europa League which finished 0-0.
He made his Swiss Super League debut against Aarau in a 5-0 home win on the 16th March again coming on as a substitute in the 85th minute scoring the last goal of the game just four minutes after coming on. Basel went on to win the League championships and reach the final of the Swiss cup that season. The Swiss international forward score his first Champions League goal on November 4t 2014 in a 4-0 win over Ludogorets Razgrad.
Embolo was eligible to play for Cameroon or Switzerland but opted for the latter making four appearances for the Swiss under 16s side scoring his first international goal in a 3-0 win over Ukraine under 16’s. He got his first senior international cap on March 31st 2015 when coming on as a substitute for Josip Drmic after 56 minutes of a 1-1 friendly draw against the USA.
At only 18, Breel Embolo has played three times for his country so far.
In other news Aston Vila are said to be closing in on the signature of Barcelona youngster Adama Traore. The former Spain under 19 international has only made four appearances for Barcelona making just one run out in the starting 11.

If reports are to be believed Traore has turned down a move to Liverpool in favour of signing for Aston Villa.
Adama joined Barcelona in 2004 aged just 8, he played though the Barcelona youth system until being promoted to the B team making his professional debut in a 0-1 defeat to SD Ponferradina in the Segunda Division.
The Talented young winger has played for Barcelona in the Copa Del Rey in an 8-1 demolition of SD Huesca, La Liga where at the age of just 17 he came on as a sub for Neymar and the Champions League coming on for Cesc Fabregas in the 82nd minute of a 2-1 loss at Ajax’s Amsterdam Arena.
